Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can, we never sell data, and we never show advertising. This page explains exactly what that means.

The short version

• This website keeps standard server logs for a short time and sets no tracking cookies.
• Browser tools run entirely on your device. What you type is never sent to us.
• Products such as RocketDigits have their own privacy policy, published on their own site, because they handle accounts and progress data.
• We never sell personal data, show advertising, or share data with advertisers.

Who we are

AIFERE designs and builds products and tools that make everyday life easier. This policy covers the website at aifere.com, including the browser tools hosted here. AIFERE is the controller of any personal data described below.

What we collect on this website

When you visit aifere.com, our web server records a standard access log for each request. A log entry contains:

• your IP address;
• the date and time of the request;
• the page or file requested and the page that referred you, if any;
• your browser type and operating system, as reported by your browser.

We use these logs to keep the site running, to diagnose errors and to detect abuse such as automated attacks. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors. Logs are deleted automatically after 30 days unless we need to keep a specific entry longer to investigate a security incident.

We do not run analytics scripts, advertising pixels or social media trackers on this site.

Browser tools

The tools on aifere.com, such as calculators and formatters, are built to run entirely inside your browser. Anything you type or paste into a tool is processed on your own device and is not transmitted to our servers, stored by us or shared with anyone. Closing the page discards it. The only data we see from a tool page is the ordinary server log described above, which records that the page was loaded.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The site may set a single technical cookie needed for security (for example, to protect forms against cross-site request forgery). It contains no personal information and is not used to identify you across visits. Some tools may use your browser's local storage to remember a preference, such as your chosen units; that data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Third-party services

To deliver this website we rely on a small number of service providers:

• Hosting. The site is served from infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
• Web fonts. Pages load the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests the font files, Google receives your IP address and standard request headers. Google's handling of that request is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not share personal data with any other third party, except where the law requires us to.

Our products

Each AIFERE product, such as RocketDigits, runs on its own site and publishes its own privacy policy there. Those policies explain what the product collects, for example account details and learning progress, how it is used and how long it is kept. This page does not cover product data; please read the policy on the product's site before signing up.

Children

Some of our products are made for children. Across everything we build, we follow the same rules: we collect the minimum needed for the product to work, we never show advertising to children, we never sell or share children's data, and we never contact children directly. Where a product needs an account for a child, it is created and managed by a parent or guardian. This website itself does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Legal basis

Where data protection law such as the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website. We have balanced that interest against your rights and limited what we collect, and how long we keep it, accordingly. We do not rely on consent for anything on this website because we do not do anything that requires it.

How long we keep data

Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Email you send us is kept for as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation, and is deleted when it is no longer needed. We do not keep any other personal data from this website.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS so that traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. Access to server logs is limited to the people who maintain the site. Keeping as little data as possible is itself our main security measure: what we do not collect cannot be lost.

International transfers

Our hosting provider and Google Fonts may process the data described above on servers outside your country. Where that involves transfers out of the EU or UK, they rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted here for a reasonable period so that returning visitors can see what is different.
