Rogue Amoeba has announced a new solution for recording sound from any audio source, Audio Hijack 4. Available for computers with the OS X operating system, the application allows you to record conversations in Skype and FaceTime, digitize analog magnetic records and vinyl, and record music from iTunes and Safari.
In the new iteration, the Audio Hijack utility has a completely new block interface, a set of templates for recording settings, support for multiple sound sources for one session, special filters for eliminating noise – Denoise, Declick, Dehum and others. Audiophiles will appreciate the ability to use the FLAC lossless compression format.
With Audio Hijack 4 you can record sounds from any application, from a DVD player, streaming audio over the Internet, record conversations via VoIP services, import sound from records, magnetic tapes, microphones and other analog sources. With the help of built-in tools you can perform post-processing to improve the sound quality.
