The year is 1962. NASA is trying to send a man to the moon, while deep in Siberia, a Soviet cosmonaut is moving in the opposite direction. Comrade Ivan Ivanovich is lowered into the crater of an extinct volcano in a research capsule called Little Orpheus to explore the center of the Earth. Soon, contact with him is lost.
Three years later, he returns, claiming to have saved the world. He has also lost the atomic bomb that was powering Little Orpheus. The cosmonaut is taken to a top-secret bunker beneath the Ural Mountains, where he is interrogated by General Yurkovoy, a man so feared that Stalin himself shuns him. The general rolls up his sleeves, fixes Ivan with a steely gaze, and says, "So… where have you been, comrade? And where is my bomb?"
Ivan, without lowering his eyes, answers: "Well, Comrade General, you may not believe me, but I will try to explain everything. It happened like this…"
Together with our brave but unlucky hero, you will explore lost civilizations, travel through underwater kingdoms, prehistoric jungles and unimaginable worlds. Fight with humanoid savages-menkvas, escape from the paws and jaws of terrifying monsters, rejoice in victories in hopeless situations and bring socialism to the underground worlds!
Little Orpheus is a colorful side-scrolling adventure inspired by classic films like Flash Gordon, Sinbad, and The Land That Time Forgot. It’s divided into eight short, easy-to-play sections, and is simple enough for casual players, yet detailed enough to keep seasoned adventure gamers interested.
